This practice emphasizes physical postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama) to promote balance, strength, flexibility, and overall well-being.
Through mindful breath awareness and control, Hatha yoga helps calm the mind, deepen the postures, and encourage the flow of prana (life force energy) throughout the body.
The practice is not just physical but also an exploration of the energetic and mental states, ultimately fostering balance in all aspects of the self.

Learn the art of slowing down during a yin yoga practice and resolve to a quiet meditative state as we work the deeper connective tissues of the body.
A yin style of practice helps a student learn boundaries within areas such as the joints by applying soft amounts of pressure for 2-5 minutes followed by rebounding the body for release. The use of props can help the body be more supported for safe practicing. This 75-minute class also offers a crystal sound bath during savasana.
What do crystal sound bowls do? Sound bowls offer harmonic frequencies that can help bring the body back to a state of balance. Like yoga, sound can promote deep relaxation and regulation of the body and mind.

Learn the art of slowing down during a yin style practice. Resolve to a quiet meditative state through breath awareness as you are gently guided to postures intended to work the connective tissues of the body.
Yin yoga helps a student learn more concentrated focus during 2-5 minute holds, followed by gentle counter releasing poses. The practice offers the guided use of props to lift the ground up to support the muscles, so the body can release down and let go of tension.

Qigong is a practice that focuses on cultivating and balancing energy, much like yoga. In qigong, which is Chinese in origin but which likely developed circuitously from India, the movements are slow, deliberate, and meditative, designed to promote the free flow of qi, which in turn supports physical health and mental clarity.
Much of Qigong blends focus and movement, and blurs the line between light exercise and meditation. Qigong also emphasizes fluid movements that engage the body and mind in coordination. The breath is also a key component in qigong, just as it is in yoga, with a focus on deep, slow breathing to support the flow of energy throughout the body.
Qigong has a relationship with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and so some qigong techniques will involve learning some simpler TCM concepts to focus on energetic pathways and organ health.
