Yin Yoga sequences are typically performed in seated and lying postures, using props to fully support your body. This relaxing and restorative discipline of yoga targets deep connective tissues between the muscles, fascia build-up, and joint mobility. By fully relaxing into the pose, and holding for about 5 minutes, the body is able to naturally release, balance energy, improve blood circulation, and reduce stress and anxiety.
Hatha Yoga uses asanas (yoga postures) and pranayamas (breathing exercises) to align and balance the body. The active stretches and asanas are held for several minutes to bring peace and balance to the mind and body as well as increasing muscle strength and endurance. Hatha yoga is performed at a relaxing pace to calm the mind in preparation for spiritual practices, such as meditation.
Vinyasa Yoga uses breath-to-movement asanas (yoga postures) to achieve balance in the body. This class is typically faster-paced and designed to produce heat inside the body. The creative sequences allow for a deepened mind-body connection while increasing flexibility, strength, stamina, and overall health.
